ORGY at SEANS MOMS HOUSE... LET THE POKING BEGIN!!!

the show at old town pub was alright. I decided not to drink as much as i normally do, and well, either i did way worse or i noticed alot more mistakes i was making, as well as others in the band. then at the same time i thought the music was being played ludicrisly fast, yet i was being told by our sound guy and the bassist that i was playing entirely too slow. so i sped up, unfortunatly in doing so made the worst event happen of the night, we crashed and burned... bad on a song called "missionary"! but i do have to give credit that we were able to pull it together to finish the song once we all figured out what the hell happened... and so there inly's the question... was i wrong or were the bassist and sound guy just a little drunk... so as much as i don't want to, i am bringing a metronome to practice and to shows. I will also have a setlist with all the times written on it that all band members agree'd upon... so if anyone says anything i can tell them to stick it up their ass! its unfortunate in my opinion, but i'm sick and tired of getting shafted with comments like speed up, or slow down, no.. quit that, dood your fucking up, what the fucks wrong with you... bla bla bla so i brought it up and my bitch seemed to get noted, so we shall see how long it lasts...

December 26th my first day using a so-called blog

Well today i've entered into the vast world of online journal writing. My Good friend and fellow band member Sean turned me onto this. so thank him for my rantings...

Today me and my girlfriend got into a arguement along the lines of past relationships. Well as it is i have this chick friend back home in northdakota that i talk to on a regular basis. we got into a uh "more than friendly" situation about 7 years ago, some shit happened and well we found it was better to be friends. So over the past few years helping jen through her abusive relationship to her now baby's daddy, likewise her helping me through my endevours with our wonderfule military, basically talking and ending our conversations with well "luv ya babe" check ya laterz... and holly heard me and went on this 45 minute rant about respect, and how she could never do that... I'm just like totally blindsided. She is a child psycology major from indiana, come here to finish at PLU. I don't understand how she wouldn't understand the circumstances. I'm lost i guess... at one point i can see her point but then after knowing the details of the situation you'd think itd get dropped, but she continued to tell me she was mad till she dropped me off... am i wrong... well i guess i'll find out tomarow.

I will be out of town and away from my computer through January 15'th, 2004. During this time, I will be unable to maintain KernelTrap. Fortunately, several readers have volunteered to help moderate these pages in my absense, helping to ensure that new content continues to be posted. If you wish to help out as well, go to the front page and follow the directions toward the top describing how you can submit news stories.

Finally, got something figured out with a mail server.

I can effectively recieve (only) e-mail at the address dave @ davesversion.com.

I have to appologize to Sean for baggering him with constant incoherent questions about MX records and so forth, due to me simply being too impatient to read through the sendmail book I got as an early christmas present.

I came across a site dealing with Unconscious Mutterings, where someone says a word, and you say the first ting that comes to mind. (I was looking for stuff for my psych paper)

Here's what I thought:

Oooooh Yeah, E-vil-bay pays off again.

I've finally got a monitor that will work with the three SGI's and one Sun computers that I have. I got a 17" SGI Monitor off of EBay for $62.

Now I can setup the web-casting baby-cam in Zoe's room with my Indy. I also hope that I can upgrade from my current machine for a router to the Sun I have, but first I have to learn how to set-up that and a firewall with Linux for Sparc.

Currently I'm using a 486DX66 with Freesco for this job.

For the life of me, I can't get ZipSlack to boot on my Dell laptop. It also happens to be the only computer that HAS an internal zipdrive.

All I'm trying to do with it is get a c compiler working so that I can play around with some stuff for Freesco.

I'm trying to install PHP, MoveableType, a little CGI I'm trying to write, and anything else I can think of to play with, just to see if I can do it.

Yeah!!!

I did a search for davestoys.dnsalias.com and actually came up with a result.

However, it lists as the Freesco control panel login.

But clicking the link DOES take you to my site.

Also, the snapahot of my site is the control panel login.

Freesco

Well, yesterday was a waste of time.

I spent about four hours playing with the new version of Freesco and I thought that I had it figured out for what I wanted to do.

However, I had been doing all of this off of a floppy drive, so that I wouldn't mess up what I had running on the router until I was sure it would work.

I finally got a job, & a real one at that.

I was recruited to work at PSNS in the shipyard to work as a marine electrician, whew! not a moment too soon, I've been un-employed 'cause I quit working at Sean's fave sound compnay(inside joke) ! We never mention their name as we don't want to promote them..... A long childish story if I ever get around to it. Greg got us a gig at JA Micheals next FRI.. So we have a gig at Brewski's of Bremerton, Fri from 11 pm to 1:00 am due to my new found job. New found job means I get new found music gear, or old found new to me gear.

when I first learned HTML I was intrigued, it its just cool to do, unfortnately due my my time which I have none, I can't spend any on trying to improve and get better at it, maybe over X-mas Sean and I can sit down, and I can learn something new, I hear XML is all the rage, until later,-W-
I'm thinking of starting my own clothing line called "W-Wear". Any ideas?

Mama Kitty died....

So thanks to my kittie's after I was about to fall asleep, I woke up with George & Fitzgig banging into my bedroom door. They are now spending the night outside... On a sad note, they mother, Mama Kitty as we called her, I found dead outside in front of a neighbor's house. I buried her by a tree in the woods. I'm gonna check on her grave site in about 1 week. On a positive note I started sending e-mails to booking agents. I want to get us gigs at Hell's Kitchen. I think Sean is right, we should book ourselves as the loudest band in Kitsap !! HA ! Well 'til tommorrow or I wake up again.. Hmmm.If you listen to mxpx and decide to get a wild hair up yer ass and actually consider moving to Bremerton, don't ! It Sux! Baltimore and DC have a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better music scene. I remember in 9th grade listening to Minor Threat and Black Flag, The Germs, and later on, Op Ivy, and Fuguzi.

so we play city limits again, and there are less people then last time! I'm not sure I thought this was possible..... Last time we each made $8 per 3 band members, this time we made $3 for 4 members! I donated my $3 to Greg for gas, as he had to drive to Port Tortured, and Selena and went home to Bummerton. What a gig ! We are the "Spinal Tap" of Kitsap County also the Loudest band apparently

Two weeks later

Sure enough, as promised two weeks after filling my new composter I was able to use the contents on my garden. Granted, it was not 100% composted yet, but it was far enough along to make for some excellent mulch which I've used in my soybean patch. As I understand it, this should provide them with a good supply of humic acid for quite some time.

We quickly refilled the composter with grass we'd dug up to plant the soybeans, newspapers, paper bags, and a 5 gallon bucket full of the past two weeks kitchen scraps (including pumpkin innards). The latter was slightly smelly, but nice to know in a few weeks it'll come out a dark humus that is actually pleasant to the senses.
