SATA 2 size problems

Submitted by COLIN
on December 1, 2006 - 5:17am

Hi all

This may sound a bit dense but I cant see the full amount of size in my new SATA 2 drive , It's a 200Gb Maxtor , It gives me the total size in the setup screen (by pressing DEL before win2000 starts up ) but only shows 121 Gb in Explorer , & also it only formatted to 121 Gb from initial format/setup, apparently my motherboard is jumperless , so no dip switchs/jumpers to set ( also it knows the total size as described previously)any ideas ??

CPU Status - Degrade

Submitted by Anonymous
on July 8, 2006 - 5:18pm

I have a sony Vaio Laptop, and under the Vaio power management, I have several option for the CPU Control status. Of these options are: Performance, Adaptive, Battery Life, and Degrade.

Which of these should I be using. I can't seem to find an explanation on how any of them effect the computer. The first three seem pretty self explanatory, however, the pattern would leave you to believe that Degrade saves more battery life. Should have have this enabled when I am running off of the battery?

on April 26, 2006 - 7:25pm

Hi,

I currently have a Windows XP (SP2) installed on a 160GB Seagate IDE hdd, which is the master.
I've also recently install Mepis onto a slave 19.0GB Seagate IDE hdd.
I'm wondering if there's any way to create a multiboot so I can choose which one to boot to.
At the moment I have to change boot priority in the BIOS which is a real pain.
Any suggestions or help are much appreciated?

Hello everybody

We’ve just finished recording our first rock album under the name of SOLID STATE.
Nothing to do with Linux, right? Wouldn’t be so sure...
The jokes from this Linuxian of all the musicians who appreciated the
frequent blue crashes of the O.S. to their right value have inspired us to do this track:
