As discussed earlier [story], I've enabled banner and text advertisement functionality on KernelTrap. Currently there's just a handful of KernelTrap text ads to get a taste of the new functionality. Now is an excellent time to make suggestions and recommendations if there's anything about how it's done that you don't like. I'm learning as I go, so I welcome all feedback.
If you're interested in advertising on KernelTrap, read more about it here. The pricing is intended to be affordable, especially when you purchase in monthly increments. Prices are of course subject to change.
Please spread the word if you know anyone who may be interested in advertising here. I consider the rest of the year a trial and evaluation period. If successful, you should start seeing new authors posting original content to KernelTrap soon. This will lead into a redesign of the site, growing into a magazine feel while keeping the SlashDot style news sections as well.
More blunt about Win-Win ?
Maybe, it's a good idea to be more direct about the win-win-situation advertisers will be in, when they advertise on the 'Advertise On Kerneltrap'-page.
Because the money is used to create content, so more visitors will come and more will see the advertisements, so more money is generated, which will in turn create even more new content... well, you get the idea. :-)
I also noticed, that there is a big difference between $50 per month (if it's 10.000 visitors daily that's about 300.000 visitors, August was: 325.929) in comparison to $20 per 10.000 visitors. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but rationally I would say almost no1 will choice for the per 10.000 views. There is to big a difference.
It's just an idea.
PS The . in 10.000 isn't wrong, I'm just not American.

Thanks, I'll probably re-write that page several times over the next few days/weeks... ;)

Only one ad is displayed at a time -- if there are 10 ads running then they each will get 1/10'th of the total. Regardless, the monthly spot is intended to be a good deal -- as mentioned before I'll be re-writing that page a few times to make this more clear.
Thanks for the feedback. :)
