Well, it seems to me that there is an obvious lack of options... Something like "less than $10,000", I would say, based on the results...

I am a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mauritania. We get paid well for local standards, but I still make $3.50 (1000um) a day. (Though my rent is 7000um ($23) a month, so it works out.)

So, yeah, we need more options like less than $1500 a year.

A poll scale that is logarithmic, or pseudo-logarithmic would be nice. Something like: 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000, 20000, 50000, 100000. Of course, the bands get a little far a part between 20000 and 100000.

tax

would that be before or after tax? where I live (Holland) we are used to mention income before tax, but that may not be the obvious choice.

Survery

You should just do a site survery if you need to info for your advertisers (with the usual anonymity etc provisos). People usually don't mind filling them out and you can summarize them for the readership. arstechnica and penny arcade (or was it pvp? can't remember) both recently did site surverys for that purpose.
Then we can have some more interesting/appropriate polls.
