which gcc-compiler version supports for linux 2.0.1---help

Hello all,
Am compiling the linux-2.0.1 , but its giving lot of errors am using the gcc version 4.0.1. Can anybody tell me out,which version of gcc compiler i need to use or from which site i can get it. If u know give me URL.

iirc back in those days gcc 2.95 (not 2.96 that was a redhat prerelease of gcc 3.0) was mandatory to build a working kernel.

(maybe you also need older binutils)
