Danube Technologies has announced a strategic partnership with KernelTrap. From the announcement:
"August 2003--Danube Technologies, Inc (DTI) and world renowned UNIX Kernel forum, http://www.kerneltrap.org (KT) negotiate strategic partnership. The specifics of the deal include the donating of services, where DTI pledges free collocation space and bandwidth in exchange for community recognition on the KT website. The contract has a duration of six months, after which terms will be renegotiated."

What happens after 6 months? Will they want banner ad revenue or something?

In six months we assess how things are going, and decide from there if things are mutually beneficial, I suppose.
Banner ads are still a 'coming soon' idea for KernelTrap, but the money is intended to go towards gathering more content, nothing else...
I'm optimistic and hopeful that we'll remain with Danube for a long time to come.
