happy

I'm in a super happy and mellow mood; it's like a runner's high, but I don't feel like I've done a ton of excercise or anything. But it was a good day. After six and a half years of putting it off, I've finally decided that it's time to learn a bit of perl. I wrote a couple of scripts today to help me out with some stuff I'm doing at work.

I met up with Neil P. today and hung out for a bit, then I went to practice, and from the very first note I played, I just felt like it was going to be an awesome practice, which it was. I swear my bass amp sounds different from day to day ( maybe line voltage was higher today since the outside temp was cooler, and air conditioning demands are lower).

I think the El Camino is digging the cooler temps too....it's running really well. I stopped by Kari's to say goodnight, and came home by way of Fry's after picking up some groceries.

It's really nice to have a job where I'm no longer worrying about money. I'm actually saving a little bit of it, finally.

I know Kurt Cobain meant heroin or something when he said he was "on a plain," but that's exactly how I can sum up how I'm feeling right now, sans the heroin. I'm happy...my kitties are happy, and things are good in my universe right now.

It's not even that deep

Don't blame me for being crazy, but I thought I'd tell you that you probably overthought "On a Plain"...
He wrote that song as a filler song on the plane ride from Seattle to L.A. to record Nevermind. Sure, it might be deeper than he wanted to admit...but i think he said it was a collection of little bits and pieces from his journal that he made into a song while he was on a plane.
