Day 2 didn't get as nearly as far as we'd expected. We actually got a later start than day one (4pm, versus 2pm), and then spent a nice evening visiting my Aunt Helen in Georgia. We had noble plans of driving through Alabama and Mississippi before stopping, but saw a comfortable motel in central Georgia which changed our plans.

Saying goodbye to Alex in hot Jacksonville.

There it is, the moment we'd been waiting for. Crossing the Florida state line. Amie, Tripper and Haelo, all excited.

Haelo and I saying goodbye to 7 years in Florida, and all smiles about it.

Posing with my Aunt Helen in Valdosta, Georgia, after a nice relaxing evening on the porch listening to crickets, talking, and drinking iced tea. We were tempted to stay, it was so peaceful and comfortable.

Another reason we almost stayed. Marilyn just got certified as a masseuse and decided to demonstrate her talents.

Mango and I are recognizing just how big the US is, and how many miles we have yet to drive.
