Hello All,

I want to find out whether it is possible to improve the life of a notebook batery using software. In other words is it possible to make a software thst will help our notebook battery to work longer.

Note that I am not asking this question for a specific platform. I want to find out whether it is feasible to do this type of thing using software. I have come to know that IBM Thinkpad comes with a battery maximizer.

Thanks,
Uzair Lakhani,

You can look at this guide. It's not that much gentoo centric, so you should be able to use these on any distro.
