It's Saturday, and I'm...at work. We're moving all of our machines to the new company's network. We've been planning this for over a month; how we're going to get around various obstacles, differences in naming standards, authentication, etc. Of course, two days before we're ready to do this, we get a completely different set of requirements and the plan goes out the window. Hence, us working on the weekend.
Had a show last night with the band. It went pretty well, but the on-stage sound sucked. It was really hard for us to hear each other or the vocals.
The El Camino is giving me a bit of trouble lately; it's time to start tracing down vacuum leaks. The engine is going *way* too fast at idle. This got really bad last night, as I had Kari holding a flashlight while I put electrical tape over some vacuum lines.
Today I took a break from work to go to Loper's Performance downtown. I picked up a detent cable for the tranny, so that I can get automatic full throttle downshifts and shift modulation going a bit better. I'm beginning to like downtown; some parts (mostly the west side) are pretty rundown, but the northeast side isn't too bad and has a pretty suburban-ish feel for being in the middle of one of the biggest metro areas in the U.S.
On the way there I had my highlight of the day....I saw Baby Man!, walking along Indian School in the vicinity of 28th St. I was past him before I thought it might have been cool to offer him a ride. That would definitely be good for a story or two. I really should keep my digital camera in the car...
Listening to the later Black Sabbath stuff lately. I had never really listened to much beyond "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" but the later Ozzy albums have some decent stuff on them. You just have to wade through the crap to find them.
Happy Belated Birthday!
Happy Belated Birthday!
ditto
Evy had just asked if your birthday was coming up a couple weeks ago, and I actually remembered when it was before looking at your profile, but then forgot when the actuaal day comes around. Sorry Sean.
Hope you had a good one anyway.
Dave Bobb
thanks!
Wish you guys could have been here for the party....Kari surprised me!
