About Group: -
Due to the hardware and operating system problems, often the cluster nodes with Oracle clusterware and Cluster Database Server (a.k.a Real Applications Cluster (RAC)) hang and crash appearing as Oracle issues. It is not easy to determine the root cause. There is no software infrastructure and tools to look at the complete system, alert, prevent, and resolve this situation. Such an outage causes significant loss of service and dissatisfaction to our customers. It also costs Oracle in terms of wasted manhours for Oracle's support and development organizations.
Technical requirement:
There is a need to detect and inform the operator about the developing sickness on nodes of the cluster as soon as possible such that the appropriate action can be taken before a crash or a hang can occur.To do that it is required that there is a capability to mine all types of logs, traces, system events, etc., whether generated by the Operating System or Oracle software. There is also a need to periodically monitor the cluster components, such as node, interconnect and storage in the cluster system for functional correctness and configuration sanity. We need to develop a software tool meeting the above requirements for all the platforms supporting Oracle clusterware and RAC.
Required Technical Skills:
Mandatory Educational Qualification & Technical Skills
· MS/PhD Computer Science, Exceptional candidates with BS and work experience can also be considered
· 5+ Years (for Principal Engineer) and 2+ Years (for Engineer) of research, design, and systems software product
engineering experience
· 2+ Years of technology and people management experience (ONLY for Principal Engineer)
· Operating System internals knowledge, design and development experience
· Linux/Windows/Unix system programming experience
· Distributed systems, Thread Programming experience
· C/C++, Java, JNI programming skills
· Shell, Perl, Batch file, scripting, system calls programming skills
· OS/Networking/Storage Systems Programming experience
· Good debugging and troubleshooting skills
Desirable Technical Skills
· Clusters,Parallel Programming experience
· XML, HTML, markup language programming skills
· Knowledge of Oracle products - RDBMS/ SQL, Real Application Clusters
Personal Skills
· Proven track record to define, build and ship products in a timely manner
· Good communication and teamwork skills
· Effective problem solver
