weirded out??

Sorry folks....I've got to do better than this blogging once a week thing. But I'm still doing better than the Biff, right? Just kidding Biff. Although I do miss your old blog.

So what's gone on since the Winprinter stuff? Not much. I've been meaning to give my condo a good cleaning, but it's never quite happened. I don't really have a good excuse. I *did* manage to replace the six burned out bulbs in the bathroom vanity. They were those big clear globes, and they're kind of expensive in most stores ($3-4 each). Big Lot's had them for $1 each, and in a much less retina burning 40 watt size.

Erica was a sick kitty on Saturday...she kept me up most of the night cleaning up cat messes. I probably should have put her outside, but I kept thinking she was done....then she'd do it again. She appears to be OK now, though.

The only other thing of note is that I've been working on solving a weird networking problem at work. I've installed OpenBSD 3.8 on a spare blade that we have. The idea is that it'll be a more secure box for webserving (and the like). But after a while, the machine just quits responding to ARP requests from other machines. The end result is that no machines on the local network can get to it. Machines from outside that subnet can, because the router maintains the ARP entry for the host. It's weird. So far, the list has been helpful. It's the first time I think I've ever posted to the OpenBSD list, and I don't want to come off like a dumbass.

I'm supposed to meet with my landlords tomorrow to discuss whether or not I want to buy my place. I've decided, tentatively, that *yes*, I do want to buy my place. Houses are too expensive here for what I can currently afford. So now it's just seeing what the price will be.

I think my new year's resolution is going to be to get better with money. I did a decent job towards the end of my Navy time, but now I'm paying for my college time.

hi there

One of my little guys decided he really wanted to be an inside/outside cat despite my assuring him that he wasn't going outside here in the apt complex. As all cats do, though, he found the way to have the last word, by peeing on my bed right in front of me. After I quelled the rage within me that was urging me to introduce him to the bottom of a nearby lake, we came to an agreement and he's much happier with his new family.

Sometimes a little "sick" isn't so bad?

Cheers!

in that light

It doesn't seem so bad. They've never defacated just to spite me.
