It was dicovered that nobody can create a folder named as "con" in windows.
This is something pretty cool...and unbelievable...
Note : This should be through & in windows only.
If any one have solution or reason why it happens , let me also know please.

how to create the con folder
1. go to root directory like C:\ or D:\
2. type md\\.\\c:\\con ....(here is done)
create windows con folder
go to some linux version and create it
that works fine
but u cant delete it in window explorer

It worked fine but when i am going to particular drive and try to delete the file it is saying "unable to delete can not find or file which u specified".even when i give rmdir in CMD prompt its not happening.To delete it i have to give the same path which i have given while creating.
My question out here is do you think really the folder has been created in the specific folder like c or d or etc etc if yes why can not we delete the same directly.

I created the Con folder in one of my drives
Thanks for giving the idea to create at the same time i want to know how to delete that folder and the files present in it. When i wished to delete the folder, it just gave me a warning to make sure the pathway for deletiing.

this way you can also create paths longer than 256 characters
This way (\\.\...) you can also create paths longer than 256 characters.
Then, they are not accessible (not possible to view, remove etc.) via standard Windows mechanisms (C:\some\long\path).

When I created the folder "con" by using "md\\.\\C:\\con" in the run console, the folder is created. I ensured the existance of the folder "con" by using the "dir" command. The folder is created.
But when I deleted the folder con by the command "rmdir con", it didn't allow me to delete the folder. But after running the command "rmdir\\.\\C:\\con", it deleted the folder successfully.
Can you please tell me the actual concept of creating the folder in that command "md\\.\\C:\\con" ?

STEP2: type in prompt e:\> "mkdir \\.\e:\con"
STEP3: verify by typing "dir \\.\e:\con"
STEP4: delete the file or folder "rmdir \\.\e:\con"
Creation folder nd files in CON folder
First you need to create a empty folder inside CON.Then Copy nd paste any files or folders inside that empty folder.But you cant copy and paste a memory contained folder.
Store files inside con folder
This post is a bit old but I just happen to browse around and find it, so here's the solution to your problem. You can't directly store files inside con or some similar folders, the trick is to create a new folder inside the con folder and store files inside that new folder. See the property of the con folder and it will show 0 byte file size even if you store a gigabyte of data inside the folder.

when you don't want to have 2 wods in the same line, use it (very usefull when you type a letter for exemple)

About con folder creation......
Windows will normally not allow this one to happen. So u cant do it in explorer. The reason is that con, prn, lpt1..lpt9, etc are underlying devices from the time dos was written..
con means console
prn means printer
.....
so if u r allowed to create such folders, there will be an ambiguity in where to write data when the data is supposed to go to the specified devices.
i mean if i want to print something, internally what windows does is it will write the data to the folder(virtually u can call it a folder, i mean prn, con, etc are virtual folders in device level) prn.
So if we are able to create con folder, windows will get confused where to write the data, to virtual con folder or real one.
The work around we do here is make the folder network associated folder, ie md \\.\C:\con is no more a windows folder, even if it behaves somewhat to be.
