I took my second of two personal days at work today, and I'm glad I did. I was feeling a little beat down. I've just about shaken mega-cold, but my jaw and throat were feeling a little swollen. Some Olympic sleeping this morning pretty well took care of that.
Stephen and I swapped out the bling bling wheels on the Lancer for some ones that he picked up. The wheels are 14" wheels from an 80's style Isuzu Impulse. Believe it or not, they don't look too bad. And the difference in ride is absolutely amazing. Now, instead of fearing manhole covers, I can drive over them and not think about it.
Today is bringing a stop at Fry's (I need a new video card; the Voodoo 3 isn't working out too well), and a PRAM battery for the Lombard.
Fry's and G3 laptops...
Speaking of Fry's, I was bummed to find out they seem to no longer carry IBM/Hitachi Travelstar laptop HDs. I ended up ordering a battery from PBFixIt.com to ensure compatibility. It'll only up my storage space by 10x (Got a 6GB right now). Ironically, I did find a replacement battery for my Pismo at Fry's when my original finally bit the thr dust (hard) a while ago. Man, when those LiOn batteries fail, they go completely. Wouldn't even boot the machine anymore.
You finally got those wheels changed. Bummer - I know you're such a bling lover too. When are you going to drop and roller-skate that thing? Or put a Fokker Triplane - er - triple wing on the back of your FWD car?
I'll stop now.
batteries
Well, the PRAM seems to be holding time now. Maybe the charge circuit needed a boot or two.
As for hard drives, tonight my friend Stephen swapped the 4 gig drive in the PowerBook for the 40 gig model I put in the iBook last fall. So now my Powerbook has a 40 gig drive. We did the 4 gig one up with classic MacOS and Stephen is taking off with my old iBook. It was the least I could do for him hooking me up with some uber 80's style wheels.

Didn't go with the twenties??? Personal days are awesome!!!!
