Re: About keyboard
You have to start the Hurd console (see http://www.debian.org/ports/hurd/hurd-install for more information about that) and then install the console-driver-xkb package, which lets you specify a keymap. Check its documentation in /usr/share/doc/console-driver-xkb/ to see how this works.
