Yesterday Christina and Nate Hersey came through town on their way up to Portland for Nate to take his first post-Navy job. It was a treat to see them; I haven't seen them in almost three years. They're doing very well. We had dinner, and I took them to the top of the South Mountains to get a decent view of the Phoenix area. We ended up renting "Garden State" later and watching it. I really enjoyed it and I'd recommend it.
The night before I watched "Ray" with my friend Neil P. It was also decent movie, but it's strictly biographical. My friend Jake summarized it best when he said it's pretty much Ray Charles doing heroin and hooking up with chicks. Which, for the time frame it covers, is apparently very accurate.
I watched a little bit of the coverage of the Tour de France today. Am I the only one who didn't know that Lance Armstrong was hooking up with Sheryl Crow? Man, that's weird. I thought she was dating Eric Clapton or some other 70's rocker still.
I gave Neil K. a call today to find out what's going on. Turns out his illness over the past week was more than he thought. We made some jokes that he might have picked something up from Sheryl Crow.....
