Hi!
I upgraded my kernel to 2.6.12.1. I compiled it using the same config of the old kernel (2.6.9).
First, I noticed the kernel stops for about 20 seconds in the boot process, when the following line appears in the screen:
...
ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq 15
The same line appeared when using 2.6.9, but there was no stopping at this point.
After boot, I tried to burn a cd using cdrecord (I have SCSI emulation enabled), but the disk is burnt incorrectly, because cdrecord spends more than five minutes saying "Writing pregap for track 1 at -150", and then starts burning the disk at 999X speed.
I hope somebody can give me a solution to this (without disabling SCSI emulation). Thank you very much.

You know what I'm going to say...
Disable SCSI Emulation. Seriously. It's badly broken and it's only going to get worse.
Well, I think it's gonna be t
Well, I think it's gonna be the solution, but...
- is SCSI Disk emulation also broken?
- does cdrdao work without SCSI Cdrom emulation?
Thank you very much

it's known issue. it's always broken. 2.6 doesn't need it to burn cd.
- does cdrdao work without SCSI Cdrom emulation?
yes.
