Just before taking a break for this year's Thanksgiving, Linus Torvalds announced another version of the Linux kernel's development branch, 2.5.50. There are no major changes in this release, but it does include big merges with Alan Cox [interview], Dave Jones [interview] and Andrew Morton [interview]; also, the ACPI, USB, LSM, SCSI and ISDN subsystems have been updated, as well as the v850, ARM and Sparc architectures.

(*) For the non-US aware of you out there: it's the time of year when the
whole country turns into one big turkey-filled trough, and pretty much
everybody just pigs out. The amount of turkey consumed would roughly reach
5.4 times to the moon and back, if all the turkeys were laid in a straight
line. Small black holes form where enough fat people get together. It's
not pretty. And I'll do my best to blend in ;^).
