A trip back to best buy to pick up a remote control that they
neglected to include in their 'nothing missing, open box, managers special'
looked into getting some extra ram for my laptop. Bestbuy didn't have
any PC2100 at all. circuit city didn't either, but their assistant wanted to
sell me some PC2700 (and proceeded to lecture me about overclocking being
perfectly riskless). Finally, a trip to compusa yielded some PC2100, though
at $40 more than I saw it online. I asked about it, and found that they
actually had some for $40 _less_ than I found online, but they had run out,
and I should go back later in the week. Thankfully, I'm in no rush for
my extra RAM.
Ended the evening by going to a nearby smokehouse for some tasty ribs.
Fun highlight of the night was when our server started asking me about
dualhead problems he was having with his ATI card under SuSE.
Wearing Linux t-shirts to public places has this effect sometimes.
I wonder if Linus ever gets support questions when he goes out to eat.
