Hi!
I was viewing the "Linux: Removing the Philips Webcam Driver" article (http://kerneltrap.org/node/view/3729#comment) and changed the "Comment viewing options" from threaded list to "Flat list - expanded", then clicked "Save Settings".
After that another article appeared, instead of the same on , just with different comment view.
Now when I am typing this , I tried it again, and now after clicking "Save Settings" I got to the FAQ (http://kerneltrap.org/faq?PHPSESSID=cdbed1183d2a3bcbb898c62ca55744f5)
It seems it confuses with the pages I view in another browser windows.
I use FireFox 0.9.3 on win2000pro.

Drupal bug
Hi, unfortunately this is a known Drupal bug. I've not had the time to look into fixing it yet. One of these days I hope to, as I find it quite annoying myself... ;) (Actually, it's possible this was fixed in the upcoming Drupal 4.5, to which I'll be upgrading this site after it is released)

It's even worse. Now I visited kernetrap, clicked on the "Philips webcam driver returned into kernel", selected "Flat view", clicked "Save settings" and I was returned to the main page. I clicked the same article ( the "xx comments" link ) and I was shown again the threaded view. I can't see the flat view !!

re: even worse
Essentially what seems to be happening is an old cookie is preventing a new one from being created. Depending on your browser, perhaps you can delete all cookies from KernelTrap and try again. Or perhaps it's as simple as forcing a complete reload of the page (ie shift-reload, or whatever works in your browser)
If you still can't get it to work, try creating a user account. Once logged in, you should be able to set your comment preferences.
Sorry for the hassle.
Lodging a Complaint
I believe a saw this addressed in the most recent Drupal release.
