Experincing problems with USB and ETH0 when upgrading from 2.4.20-6(RH9) to 2.4.25

Dear all

I ran into problems while upgrading my Dell notebook 5150 from RH9 version 2.4.20.6 to version 2.4.25. I managed to successfully compiled the kernel. The trouble that I have is it failed to install USB as well as regconizing the build-in Ethernet controller. Both of these are working fine in version 2.4.20.

Any idea on how to work around this problem will be helpful.

you probably need module-init
