Hello. I really need som help here. I just compiled and installed kernel 2.6 on my debian. Earlier kernel is 2.2.20. After i reboot, i just get Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount / in /dev/hda2. Before this i got a massage saying something about couldn't find ReiserFS, but that i fixed.

Please, someone help me, i don't get errors or anything during boot, neither during installing.

Thanks...

Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount / in /dev/hda2

You should try to mount /dev/hda2 in / and not the opposite.

Message as follows

This is the message i get;
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on hda2

And the "Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount / in /dev/hda2" was wrong.
