The day after X-mas

Well, I'm not going to do a Christmas wrap-up, since Lisa did a decent job of that. I got a new toolbox from Lisa's parents, a 128MB Sandisk Cruzer keychain drive from Penny and Travis, and Lisa got me a sweet Mini-DV camcorder. When I have some money again, I'm going to pick up a Firewire card for my Linux box and do some video transfer and editing.

Today it's "work on Lisa's car" day. We went to drive her car over to Penny and Travis's place on Christmas Eve, and the car was sort of wobbling around at low speed. Today I've found the culprit, a left rear tire that's mis-shapen and looks to have a nail through it (you've got to give Michelin credit for the tire staying together though. The car needs an alignment and some new tires, but before that gets done I need to change out the half-shafts, which are going bad. So today Ed and I are going to stay busy working on that.

What, no call?

I'm so proud of our little Sean. All that work to the car and no calls for help! Next thing you know he'll be buying something British.

Trust me, I would have been calling you but I don't have your current phone number committed to memory just yet.

My car is acting extra crappy lately; the choke is sticking partially closed and so it'll run like crap sometimes when it warms up. Today it died on the side of the freeway and wouldn't start. By the time I got out, got the hood up, and took the cover off of the carbuerator, the choke was open and the damn thing started right up. I *hate* problems like that!

My car has a distinctly female temperament.
