kernel boot hangs on usb enable

Hi,
I am using linux-2.6.23 osd kernel,with enable of the usb Host the kernel boot hangs saying sending DHCP REQUEST..... if i insert as a module it detects and reports the usb connect or disconnects,but it hangs after inserting that module

Please suggest some solution to it.

Hi Anusha,

I had this problem due to an enabled gated clock in the BIOS (M1689).
When I turned off the gated clock it worked just fine.
