I see a lot of threads on forums about bad I/O performance in Linux (here 2.6.25.x).

Here for example when I emerge --sync, my system can hang during 3 seconds or more. Don't know if it's related to CFQ,CFS or other...

Is there anything that I can do ? Is there any patche/fix ?
