Linux Engineer for a dynamic electronic trading firm which uses cutting edge technology to provide superior trade execution

Looking for a Technical Linux Engineer to join their exceptionally talented team this person is a key contributor to the future of the firm.

Must be passionate about Linux and look to help build the infrastructure from ground up, firm already has top notch technologist in other areas i.e. windows and application development but need someone to take on much of the responsibility on the Linux Infrastructure side

Part of day to day work is to research and test new innovations that could help them optimize their infrastructure to enable more efficient trading. Candidate must have a passion to pick up, learn, and test new technologies as they come out for the firm

This candidate will work hand in hand with the head of Infrastructure, getting involved in high level design, as well as getting hands dirty with low level configurations.

Team is expected to grow, and this person would be instrumental in the direction of the team

Qualified Candidates should have the following qualifications:

Expert knowledge in UNIX (Linux)
Excellent knowledge of Sockets (TCP/IP)
System Networking
Experience with RAID configuration, kernel tuning, etc

Experienced with supporting end-users with basic usability needs
Should be familiar with all aspects of administration and troubleshooting, unattended installation
Extensive experience: installing, configuring and maintaining computing infrastructure, operating systems, and software products on Linux computing platforms
Strong Shell/Perl scripting skills
Thirst to learn and test new technologies.
