Hi, does anybody know if there is any function to get a process sleeping for a while? I mean, a semaphore with timeout...

Waking on either an event or a timeout is often done with wait_queues and wait_event_[interruptible_]timeout().
Do you have a copy of Linux Device Drivers, 3rd Edition? It's really useful for this kind of day to day stuff.
