Hi, friends,as CF card capacity is bigger and bigger, now 16GB CF is normal, but the price of CF card becomes more cheaper day after day.Why don't we put one CF to IDE adapter in the computer, then we can install operation systerm in CF card as harddisk,it is very fast ,small power, little voice.I suggest you can use the following CF to IDE adapter.

They make good boot drives,
They make good boot drives, that's for sure. Although, harddrives still have the upperhand when it comes to capacity, and price. A 16gb CF still runs ~$150, while a 500GB hard drive can be had for $100 (In Canada here anyways). The throughput on the hard drive is still considerably faster than the CF (though the CF has a limited number of write/rewrites). Latency on the CF is nice though, but if youre into downloading, deleting, they aren't really the best (especially when transferring larger files). The CF-to-IDE adapters are just another piece of hardware on top of that. I wouldn't trust the ones that are on Ebay selling for $1-2, unless the system was just to muck around with. Who knows what the quality is like, or how it affects the speed of your CF card.
Although, the SSD drives look promising - 90MB/sec SUSTAINED throughput, and 0.1ms of response time (on a 2.5 inch drive!!). When these things drop from $1500, they will then be a lot nicer to have as a server drive.
