Huge Files on 32bit machine

Hi,

Whats the maximum size of the file that we can create on 32 bit and 64bit machine. I was having some problems in creating files greater than 2GB on 32 bit machine. But i can copy file sizes more than 2GB on to it. Can any one please explain me this.
