... never do this if not obscured. The behaviour is the same for a local Linux Xbiff and a Sun Xbiff displayed on the PC. Displaying the Sun Xbiff on any other X terminal works as expected. Linux 99.9, 99.10, XFree86 1.2 Any clues? Regards, Tor

... installing inc-4.4.tar.z is very well documented, as has always been the case with H.J.'s packages. Besides, it is always a good idea to do a 'tar tvf' before one actually extract the content - it's a built-in feature in my fingers.. :-) Tor

... for some particularly 'difficult' source code (like libtiff). This seems to be true, 'make test' with flex 2.3.8 used to take 16MB + 24MB swap!! With gcc 2.4.5 it takes 16MB + 6MB swap. (but 'make test' still fails the compare though.. :-( ) Tor
