hi, are there any apps for controlling usb host/device mode, which will work under the newer kernels? both the apps on opkg appear to only work on older kernels cheers _______________________________________________ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
i think you can use shortom http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/ShortOm _______________________________________________ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Should work with SHR Settings from SHR unstable (as it uses interfaces from FSO). -- Be free, use free (http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html) software! mailto:fercerpav@gmail.com _______________________________________________ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
ah, shame - i'm on shr-testing and i can't see it in shr-settings here. guess i'll have to wait till it gets more stable _______________________________________________ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

i'm using the most recent shr-settings, with all updates applied. kernel is 2.6.29-rc3 framweworkd is 0.8.5.1+gitr1277+542c7e13e021b609ec0aa1c20615d940adfcf403-r0, which opkg insists is the newest version is there something else i'm missing? _______________________________________________ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
frameworkd - 0.8.5.1+gitr1364+3ca073dcfbfd4d948bca398e878fb893229a3218-r3 - I think that's the answer ;) _______________________________________________ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
right. so, why doesn't opkg update and opkg upgrade get it? i tried opkg install frameworkd, and opkg tells me it's up to date already these are the only frameworkd packages in the shr-testing repo: http://build.shr-project.org/shr-testing/ipk//armv4t/frameworkd_0.8.5.1+gitr516f48762a... http://build.shr-project.org/shr-testing/ipk//armv4t/frameworkd_0.8.5.1+gitr516f48762a... where are you finding the revision you quoted? r1364 is only in the shr-unstable repo _______________________________________________ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
In shr-unstable, as it was said before ;) _______________________________________________ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
right, after going round the houses, this module is apparently not in -testing.... so, back to the original question: are there any apps written to work with new kernels (.29), which will switch the usb port between host and device? afaics, the apps on opkg.org are all written to the old /sys layout and shortom has not been updated recently or, is anybody successfully using either of these apps on a recent kernel? cheers _______________________________________________ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
I should update mine to work: http://www.opkg.org/package_40.html But if you can use vim you can opkg install it then edit /usr/bin/usb.sh as per the instructions on the opkg.org page. If I can find two minutes at some point I'll test / re-package and update. Cheers, Joseph _______________________________________________ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
