Great!
One comment on Chapter 7:
"Currently, the utility dfu_util is only provided for Linux. Support
for dfu_util under Windows and Macintosh will be provided at a later
date."That is not accurate (at least for OSX). See: http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/MacOS_X
There is also an Openmoko Flasher tool for the Macintosh since August
2007.BR,

\--Thanks! Updated the documentation.
The wiki documentation is comprehensive, and I feel just pointers to
links and necessary documentation to get people started should be kept
in this Quick Start User Guide. The User Manual can contain the
complete documentation available in the wiki.Just my thoughts,

It looks very nice!
Great job:)--
A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?

In the Flashing the Freerunner section it says, "You can use the USB
cable and Openmoko provided tool to flash Neo FreeRunner."I'm curious about the use of the word "can". Is it possible to flash
the Freerunner from the device itself, without using the USB cable
connected to another GNU/Linux host?I suspect it's not, and that this section could clarify this by saying,
"To flash the Freerunner you must connect it via a USB cable to a host
that can run the Openmoko-provided flashing tool."(And then I think it might also be true that the flashing tool is
currently only available for GNU/Linux. Is that right?)Brian

The bootloader implements an open standard for Device Firmware Upgrade. The
supplied dfu-util implements the host end of the standard on linux, but in
principle any compliant host end could be used. There is a version available
for the Mac too.

http://www.dsitri.de/wiki.php?page=OpenMoko%20FlasherYou can also flash the freerunner using the debug board. If you want to flash
the uBoot in NOR this is the only way to do it._______________________________________________

Yes, even under all NAND flash is empty/content distroyed. You could
still using boot from NOR function (a backup u-boot in NOR flash), and
using boot from SD card function into full system, then re-flashing NAND.NOR also have 2 MB space, you might could port any thing into 2 MB space
and try another flashing way (bt/wi-fi/etc), if you got debug board. But
we never tried.Tony Tu

you mean, one can flash the om from an sd card, too?
or after booting up from sd card as described above one still needs to
connect to a computer?_______________________________________________

Yes, direct flash from SD card without USB.

that's pretty nice -- though i cannot imagine how one would corrupt one's
om into the need of reflashing while on the road :-)_______________________________________________

But I'm sure you can flash the neo with the debugboard too... for example.
