| Mike Belopuhov | acpivideo: don't try to attach to non-existent devices
Hi,
the following diff fixes a hang on boot when acpivideo(4) tries to
evaluate _DOD method for nonexistent video device.
Long story short, there are crappy laptops out there (like Samsung Q45)
that have modifications with advanced video cards (nVidia) and regular
Intel ones. To save costs [or for whatever other reasons] manufacturer
uses the same ACPI config for both modifications.
In this case there are two acpivideo devices: NVID and GFX0 with ADRs
Zero and 0x00020000 respectively, so ...

| Jordan Hargrave | ACPI: (redux) Early acpiec initialization diff
Redux: this new version will apply with -current
This patch will allow acpiec to initialize earlier if a ECDT table is
found. This fixes a lockup if booting on some Thinkpads while docked.
You can tell if your system supports ECDT by scanning the ACPI tables
line in dmesg. There should be a line like this:
acpi0: tables DSDT FACP SSDT ECDT TCPA APIC MCFG HPET SLIC BOOT ASF! SSDT SSDT SSDT SSDT
ECDT will be one of the entries if the early initialization is supported.
If scanning ...

Kernel IPsec will not use hardware acceleration unless both the
encryption and the hash are marked as supported.

| Philip Guenther | Re: [PATCH] change exit status of env(1)
Sorry Ted, but there are many more ambiguous cases.
If you run a command that smells kinda posixy and you get back a
status of 127, that _probably_ means that *somewhere* in the chain of
processes that was involved in the execution of that command,
something tried to execute a command and got an ENOENT error from the
kernel.
It doesn't mean that the 'outermost' command got an ENOENT error from execve.
It doesn't mean that the child process tried to invoked execve() at all.
It doesn't ...
