sysutils/sleuthkit in ports might be able to handle this. First thing
you want to do is use dd to make an image of the disk and work from
that. Hopefully this will work with the media that your camera uses.

I believe it's in sysutils/testdisk. IIRC I've used it very successfully.

| Predrag Punosevac | Erased Files Recovery
Dear All,
Sorry for this hasty e-mail. I have a Thanksgiving emergency here.
Namely, my wife has accidentally erased all the pictures from her
Sony camera (FAT 16 file system). Can anybody point me to any
forensic tools in ports which can be used to recover the files. The
good news is that I didn't allow her to take any photos after she did
that as I recall somebody saying here that until files are not overwritten
the files are not lost. I also apologize for bad formating of this message.

Yep sysutils/testdisk is very easy to use for this case. winternals
disk commander is even easier for this filesystem, but obviously not in
ports.
Look out for "list files" I think and have somewhere ready to copy them
to. It's also possible to rebuild the partition table without copying
the data off and simply getting it all back, this can even be
automated in many cases. You may want to make an image and work on that
just to almost guarantee you can't ...

| Andrea Parazzini | Re: ipsec vpn unexpected flow
Hi,
"from 10.1.0.0/16" is the network id that I would negotiate with the remote
peer.
"(0.0.0.0/0)" is our real network, we have a lot of networks behind this
box.
We perform NAT on traffic leaving through the VPN tunnel.
192.168.71/24 0 10.1/16 0 0 W.X.Y.Z/esp/use/in
10.1/16 0 192.168.71/24 0 0 W.X.Y.Z/esp/require/out
Why this flow?
I would only flows defined in the configuration files.
Thanks
Andrea

pleas read ipsec.conf manual page agian specially "OUTGOING NETWORK ADDRESS
TRANSLATION" Section.
"10.1.0.0/16 (0.0.0.0/0)" means you want to nat anything from 10.1.0.0/16to
0.0.0.0/0 !
I think this is so strange .I can not understand your configuration rule.
Are you sure your traffic really pass through your IPSec Tunnel.

Yes the traffic pass through the tunnel. The vpn works fine.
If I understand the manual "10.1.0.0/16 (0.0.0.0/0)" means that
I can perform NAT on traffic leaving through the VPN tunnel to 10.1.0.0/16
addresses.
Thanks.

Yes. This is especially fun when you end up accidentally routing
all traffic from a 100mb-connected site down an ADSL link by getting
isakmpd.policy(5), and have some aspirin ready for the inevitable headache.

| Joachim Schipper | Re: OT: Disadvantages of using virtual firewalls like OpenBSd
Let me add one more reason to the ones already offered: there are *many*
side-channel attacks that can cross VM barriers. In other words, don't
do any sort of crypto (SSH, IPsec...) on virtualized machines, unless
you trust every VM on the same physical box.
I'm not online at the moment, but look at e.g. "Hey, You, Get Off of My
Cloud: Exploring Information Leakage in Third-Party Compute Clouds" by
Ristenpart, Tromer, Shacham and Savage for this kind of attack on
Amazon's VMs. There are many ...

The cpu caches (encryption keys etc.) grabbed my interest at the
beginning but were then not mentioned further and their best examples
were not amasingly problematic for my purposes. The password grabbing
timing attack may be a concern if the hoster sets default management
passwords and must be kept in mind, but once setup I use ssh keys not
passwords and OTP once logged in. I don't doubt that more and more
attacks will see the light of day and so it is ...

Is there a way for force async mounts to a OBSD NFS server? There
doesn't seem to be a way to force async on an ESXi client. It appears
other OSs allow forcing through an /etc/exports option. Thanks.
