Many (probably 50%) of RJ11 4-wire telephone cables were crimped wrong

by the factory and are in fact  roll over cables (RJ11 fits in RJ45,

but you need 4 wires, 2 won't work).
Saved me some from hair loss one sunday far away from everything.
