Generally there is nothing wrong with asking questions.
Part of the deal on mailinglists is to show that one has done his
homework and investigated the issue.

Minimum effort includes looking at the relevant manpages, issuing some
searches on the search engine of choice and consulting the mailing list
archives.

You will find out on the archives that the topic of your mail has been
touched recently.
