I received a new vostro 1310 laptop last friday, I tried the latest snapshot
available on the day (21/05/08), the system would hang on booting the GENERIC
kernel which is easily fixed by disabling ACPI & GENERIC.MP would panic, I
managed to resolve this by disabling the express card slot, today I downloaded
the snapshot from the 25th, I still need to disable ACPI to start the GENERIC
kernel, but GENERIC.MP panics intermittently on boot, usually if the system
starts from a cold boot. The other problem with the system is with re(4), the mac addrees of the system
is 00:00:00:00:00:00, both the snapshots I've tried have the same problem.
acpidump also dies with a Segmentation fault (core dumped) error after
execution. The dmesg, acpidump, pcidump output plus photos of ps, showregisters, trace
output from ddb can be found here:
http://www.geeklan.co.uk/files/vostro1310/openbsd/crashI've included the core dump from acpidump but haven't been able to retrieve
the dump from boot dump. /var/crash is empty??Sevan / Venture37
