I'd like to say this is amusing..but it really isn't. I too receive the same
kernel messages from my iwi interface, though on a Dell Inspiron 8600.

The variety I see:

  iwi0: fatal firmware error
  iwi0: unknown authentication state 1

This is among one of the many reasons greg@kroah.com should be taken out of
existance.
