OpenBSD 4.2 on i386:

does ftpd have the capability to follow sym links? or is there a work
around that would allow it to?

if not, will that support be added any time soon?

Or use net/pure-ftpd with the virtual_chroot flavor.

It will follow links outside the chroot.
