Sorry.  I s'pose I could've been more explicit.  The SD card does in
fact fail to work in any of the ways that it does in other computers and
operating systems.  In OBSD on the Zaurus, I can't do even the most
basic operations (look at the disklabel or partition table) and I can't
see filesystems or files that other computers can see on the SD card. 
Ideally, I'd like to be able to both read and write to the SD card in
OBSD on the Zaurus.
