The following reply was made to PR system/5816; it has been noted by GNATS. From: bsd@openbsd.rutgers.edu To: Brad <brad@comstyle.com>, gnats@openbsd.org Cc: Subject: Re: system/5816: MCP55 nfe watchdog timeout Date: Thu, 15 May 2008 11:45:28 -0400 Commit 1.75 of src/sys/dev/pci/if_nfe.c seems to do the opposite of a bugfix in FreeBSD rev 1.21 of their src/sys/dev/nfe/if_nfe.c -- and I can attest that, with the v1.75 change in place, cpu0 on this machine is 50% busy all the time, servicing only interrupts, according to top(1). Backing out rev 1.75 to if_nfe.c, cpu0 goes idle. I've uploaded more dmesgs to the same URL, including a -current kernel built from today's sources (checked out this morning), and a linux dmesg in the hopes that it may help in some way. The dmesg from today's sources show nfe differently than the snapshot did.
