In keeping with our goal to serve the BSD community by providing an
extensive line of BSD products and services, Daemon News is proud to

Course: OpenBSD System Administration
Class 1: November 19 - 21, 2002, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Class 2: January 21 - 23, 2003, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Location: Seattle, Washington area
Cost: US$1,500.00

The hands-on OpenBSD System Administration class covers the fundamentals
of OpenBSD system administration, including: installation (i386), system
services, installing software packages, configuring and building
kernels, network configuration, and more.

This class is designed for students who are new to BSD administration.
Some Unix, BSD, or Linux experience would be helpful.  Although this
course uses OpenBSD for its curriculum, most of the concepts are also
applicable for NetBSD, BSD/OS and FreeBSD administration.

Course features:
    * Complimentary OpenBSD CD set (Official Set).
    * Complimentary lunches included daily.
    * Small classes with one-on-one interaction.
    * Hands-on training, one system per student.

Topics covered in this course include:
     * operating system installation (CDs provided)
     * rc.conf system startup configurations
     * networking setup and troubleshooting
     * user and group administration
     * installing new software using ports and packages
     * setting up a DNS caching and authoritative DNS server (using BIND)
     * setting up basic packet filter and NAT (Network Address
       Translation)
     * beginning email server configuration (using Postfix)
     * Apache HTTPD webserver configuration for virtual domains
     * Unix security concepts
     * customizing the kernel
     * updating an OpenBSD system
