How did this thread get started?

There is one product that doesn't exist - a Linux compatible hardware
media decoder.  XvMC is about as close as we get, and that was
obsolete years ago... I don't know how tough it would be to implement
but there are a lot of MythTV users who would be interested, and it
would fit in with the graphics type of idea.
