Hello,

on behalf of the NetBSD Release Engineering team, I'm happy to announce
the availability of NetBSD 3.0 RC5 for testing.=20

NetBSD 3.0 RC5 is available in the "daily builds" section of your
local FTP mirror (in the /pub/NetBSD-daily/netbsd-3-0-RC5 directory
on most mirrors), and we encourage you to test it out and report any
bugs using send-pr(1).

We hope that this will be the final release candidate for
NetBSD 3.0, barring any major issues or security problems.

Here is a brief summary of changes from NetBSD 3.0_RC1 to 3.0_RC5:

- ipsec-tools 0.6.3 fixing the security hole reported in CAN-2005-3732
- fixed a security hole in kernfs
- bug fixes for the bge(4), esiop(4), siop(4), sk(4) and ulpt(4) drivers
- updated package tools
- added missing BIND 9 tools (DNSSEC, zone checking)
- fixed support for files larger than 4GB in gzip(1)
- improved optimization in the NetBSD-sparc64 compiler
- fixed memory corruption under NetBSD-sgimips on R41xx, R4600, and
  R5000/Rm52xx machines
- fix PCI support for SIS 741 chipsets (NetBSD-i386)
- the NetBSD-amd64 installation medias now support the SysKonnect Gigabit
ethernet interfaces via the sk(4) driver

	Kind regards
