I've updated the main vendor/system for 168c:001c devices, but I haven't
got a AR5007 reference design to add for sub-vendor/system IDs. I've
also changed AR5005VL to the chip name, and made things consistent.

Note that not all designs may have all radios available or enabled.

I have a PCI Express card that works with the Atheros HAL (ticket 1679),

03:00.0 0200: 168c:001c (rev 01)

03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5006EG
802.11 b/g Wireless PCI Express Adapter (rev 01)
Subsystem: ABIT Computer Corp. Unknown device 1033

ath_info reports:

Warning: Invalid EEPROM Magic number!
-==Device Information==-
MAC Version: 2425 (0xe0)
MAC Revision: 2425 (0xe2)
PHY Revision: 5110 (0x00)
-==EEPROM Information==-
EEPROM Version: 5.3
EEPROM Size: 4K
Regulatory Domain: 0x60
-==== Capabilities ====-

802.11b Support: no
802.11g Support: yes
RFKill Support: no
32KHz Crystal: no

GPIO registers: CR 00000000 DO 00000000 DI 0000000b

Actually, ath_info didn't work initially, even with the patched driver.
Then I loaded unpatched madwifi trunk, and the card didn't work with it,
obviously. Then I loaded the patched madwifi again, and it would not
work (HAL error 3). Then I rebooted, and after that the device moved
from 05:00.0 to 03:00.0, changed its memory address, and this time,
ath_info worked.

That's another indicator that ath_info has issues with some PCI busses.
Perhaps it should be rewritten as a kernel module to make such issues
transparent.

The chip is fully covered with a metal cover, but since the ticket 1679
is called "Support for AR2425 (AR5007EG) chipset", and I have verified
that the Atheros patch is required for supporting that card, we can
conclude that it's "AR5007EG 802.11bg NIC (2.4GHz, PCI Express)"

Do you want me to write to the robot?

Please send the ID's to the mail robot as plain text, the robot is not
keen on deciphering base64 :)

Otherwise, all's well.

Have a nice fortnight
