Hi,

I just hope that what I'm asking here could be helpful to improving or
 strengthening Madwifi.

I'm working on roofnet-based mesh networks using Emulab.
I thought that the current Madwifi driver (since madwifi-ng) would be
working well with Click (modular router)
(I know that "stripped madwifi" was working with Click, however, I
couldn't make it due to some weird errors, I'm not asking this issue here).

Unfortunately, I found that the current Madwifi does not cooperate well
with Click. This is mainly because the current Madwifi checks whether a
packet to be transmitted is raw packet or IP packet (this checking code
wasn't there in the stripped madwifi).
All packets passed by Click in roofnet are raw packets.
So if the packet is a raw packet, the Madwifi simply passes it to HAL
without using any existing autorate algorithm (such as SampleRate,
 Minstrel, etc).
As a result, when I tried to use roofnet click in conjunction with the
current Madwifi, I cannot force the Madwifi use its own autorate
 algorithm.

Is there another way to do so?
 Am I missing something here?
Or can anybody confirm my observation is really right?

 Thanks in advance,

 Jun
