Hello people!

Now I have tested various cards and driver versions. Anywhere I come to the same
result:

After
   ifconfig ath0 up
I get the following messages:
   wifi0: ath_chan_set: unable to reset channel 1 (2412Mhz) flags 0xc0 'Hardware
didn't respond as expected' (HAL status 3)
   wifi0: ath_chan_set: unable to reset channel 11 (2462Mhz) flags 0xc0
'Hardware didn't respond as expected' (HAL status 3)
   wifi0: ath_chan_set: unable to reset channel 13 (2472Mhz) flags 0xc0
'Hardware didn't respond as expected' (HAL status 3)
   wifi0: ath_chan_set: unable to reset channel 3 (2422Mhz) flags 0xc0 'Hardware
didn't respond as expected' (HAL status 3)
   wifi0: ath_chan_set: unable to reset channel 5 (2432Mhz) flags 0xc0 'Hardware
didn't respond as expected' (HAL status 3)
   wifi0: ath_chan_set: unable to reset channel 9 (2452Mhz) flags 0xc0 'Hardware
didn't respond as expected' (HAL status 3)
   ....

The same message for each channel, repeating until I deactivate the device with
   ifconfig ath0 down

Can anyone help me with this problem?
How can I generate meaningful debug outputs?

Environment:
   - PowerPC freescale MPC5200 (PPC 603e core)
   - Linux 2.4.25 (www.denx.de)
   - WLAN card: TP-Link TL-WN660G   or   Gigabyte GN-WIAG02
     both with AR5005GS
