Hello; This message seems to be appearing on a random, (every x amount of boots). At first I thought this was resolved with adjusting the .config but didn't seem to be the answer. Also I have third party modules installed i.g.(isight driver, and dri driver) which also might be causing this. I guess the best answer is if somebody else can verify this happens to them, with all in kernel modules. I on the other hand will unload the third party modules and see if this appears. regards; -- Justin P. Mattock --
Hi. I just pulled Linus' GIT tree and the message seems to have disappeared. Before today it showed reliably on every boot. Regards, Fabio --
Hello; Well I just pulled the latest git to see if acpi gpe storm was resolved. so after recompiling and rebooting, I noticed this was still prevalent, then during the boot process my system is hanging after freeing unused memory. So after undoing that mess, I think what I will do is just stay were I'm at. It's a holiday were I'm located and don't feel like thinking that much. regards; -- Justin P. Mattock --

I believe this was fixed by Jeremy's PTE_MASK fixes in 2.6.26-rc3-git2, but can only say that they fixed my own X with PAE since PAT mods problem. Ted, when you have a chance, please try a recent kernel and let us know if this regression can now be removed from the list - thanks. Hugh --
Yes, I just tried it, with a freshly pulled mainline, and the problem looks like it has been fixed. So we can close out the bug and remove it from the regression list. - Ted --
Bug #10732 is now closed. BTW, it seems d*mned strange that the submitter of the bug doesn't have the power to close a bug without first grabbing the bug as the bug-fixer, changing its state to ASSIGNED, and *then* being allowed to close the bug. Grumble, bugzilla's !#@#?@ process straightjacket.... - Ted --
That depends on your account's access rights within the Bugzilla, which always have been a mystery to me. Thanks, Rafael --
Martin Bligh should be able to clear that mystery up. -- ~Randy --

Hi,
Riccardo, thanks for bisecting the problem. Could you also attach dmesgs
for "good" and "bad" kernels at bugzilla entry (so we can see if there are
any clues for solving the regression in messages printed by the driver)?
Also does the following patch help (we should always setup PCI device
with pci_enable_device() before using it, my patch changed it)?

Hello, I'm bisecting again the kernel because I think I made something wrong. I don't think that is this the first bad commit because, after bisecting, I tried to git reset hard to that commit 3 times and build the kernel, and once the problem was not present. I'm really sorry. This is the output of dmesg when the problem is present: # dmesg r (psparse-0537): Method parse/execution failed [\ISMI] (Node f7c18630), AE_NO_MEMORY ACPI Error (psparse-0537): Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.PX40.MIDI._STA] (Node f7c1ef68), AE_NO_MEMORY ACPI Error (exregion-0164): Could not map memory at F7C218943FFFFF00, size 200 [20070126] ACPI Exception (evregion-0420): AE_NO_MEMORY, Returned by Handler for [SystemMemory] [20070126] ACPI Error (psparse-0537): Method parse/execution failed [\ISMI] (Node f7c18630), AE_NO_MEMORY ACPI Error (psparse-0537): Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.PX40.GAME._STA] (Node f7c1eedc), AE_NO_MEMORY ACPI: PCI Root Bridge [PCI0] (0000:00) pci 0000:00:02.0: Enabling SiS 96x SMBus ACPI: PCI Interrupt Routing Table [\_SB_.PCI0._PRT] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Routing Table [\_SB_.PCI0.PCI1._PRT] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKA] (IRQs 3 4 5 6 7 10 *11 12 14 15) ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKB] (IRQs 3 4 5 6 7 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled. No problem and thanks for quickly & honestly reporting it (instead of silently going away leaving us scratching our heads for months)... [ + wrong bisect resulted in a valid bugfix patch, cool! ] Thanks, Bart --
