And as much as I think that Linux is a good system, don't count on it's slimness. The 0.99pl9 kernel I use is >>500k and won't boot unless it is compressed. Re: Linux vs. RSAREF
Correction: Linus Torvalds has placed the Linux kernel under the GPL, but he has not donated it to the FSF. He still owns the copyright. It is therefore not a "GNU product". If an interpretation of the GPL should find that binary distribution of Linux executables is forbidden, and Linus doesn't like this, he is free to add a clause granting people any additional rights that he deems appropriate. He cannot do this for the libraries, since they are, for the most part, owned by the FSF, but they a...

Re: Orchid and ATI cards: which is best?
We are running ATI Ultra Pro cards and they work very well. I would recommend purchasing an orchid (or any S3 based card) because the xfree development team uses S3 cards for development. When xfree 2.0 comes out, I am sure that the accelerated S3 drivers will be working and bug free while the ATI drivers will still be buggy or under-featured. S3 cards are much cheaper also. The Ultra Pro VLB is around $400-$500 while and S3 local bus is around $200-250 and even cheaper in some places. The ATI...

Hmm. I think the questions are. Facts. 1. Linux is a GNU product. Significant parts of it are covered by the GPL (e.g. the kernel) 2. It is technically possible to build RIPEM/RSAREF on Linux. 3. The resulting binary would be a "product" designed to work with Linux. It would be useless to anyone not running Linux. 4. Someone is selling Motif for Linux. Questions: 1. Can one build RIPEM/RSAREF for Linux? 2. Can one use RIPEM/RSAREF on a Linux system? 3. Can one distribute a Linux ripem b...
