Hi, as a beginner in the linux world, I like linux very much. So I'm planning to buy a 17inch to 20 inch monitor for x-windows under linux. So, my question is, what kind of graphics adapter should I buy? I have a trident 8900 now, and I don't want another graphics card with trident chip. I want a card that has 24bit color, windows accelerator and fully compatable with linux <that is without doing a lot of modifications> , and most of all it should be under $150. I've read all the faqs, still I don't exactly know what the best video card for x under linux is ! that is other than a wimpy TRIDENT. Thanks in advance! (Please e-mail me if you can) my add. is "ujianyu@mcl.ucsb.edu" -- this is a test
